It starts with the conversation
The first step is for employer and employee to talk about what you want to achieve and when you plan to start.
Get in touch with Primary ITO
We’ll answer any questions you’ve got and let your local Primary ITO team know you’re keen to start. If you’re part of a big company, you may have a workplace training manager who can contact us on your behalf.
Meet your local training adviser
We’ll call the employee or employer and arrange a get-together at your workplace. This is all about helping work out the skills you need and the best training apprenticeship pathway to match.
Sign a training agreement
Both the employer and employee will sign a training agreement so we can keep you both up to date with your progress. We’ll also keep NZQA informed to ensure the qualification goes on your record.
It’s time to get started!
You can start the apprenticeship anytime you like. Apprentices use their new skills and knowledge on the job straight away so the sooner you start, the better.
