Boiler Operation - Level 3
Employees will learn everything they need to carry out basic boiler operations. They'll learn to comply with standard operating procedures, maintain personal safety, and work within boiler house safety systems and legislative requirements.

Plant and Machinery - Level 3
Employees will learn to operate and monitor the performance of a basic range of plant and equipment used in an energy or chemical plant and comply with standard operating procedures and health and safety requirements. They'll learn about pipework and fittings, pollutants and control measures, how to operate valves and more.

This course takes 10 months to complete and staff can start anytime.
Prerequisites
Suitable for entry level operators.

Field Operations - Level 4
With strands in Process Plant Equipment, Steam Plant and Geothermal Operation this course is for experienced operators. Your employees will learn to operate and monitor boiler plant equipment, apply safe risk assessment and health and safety procedures, isolate and re-commission equipment, and use control systems to identify, respond, and report on equipment faults.

Qualification
Staff will achieve one of the following:
- New Zealand Certificate in Energy and Chemical Field Operations (Process Plant Equipment) Level 4
- New Zealand Certificate in Energy and Chemical Field Operations (Steam Plant) Level 4
- New Zealand Certificate in Energy and Chemical Field Operations (Geothermal Operation) Level 4

Plant Control Room Operations - Level 5
In this comprehensive course, senior operators will learn to analyse the commercial implications of steam generation plant, apply safe and efficient work management systems, control process conditions and operate plant systems. This course has strands in Plant Outage Coordination and Steam Generation.

Boiler Mountings and Equipment (Online Course)
This online course interactively explores a virtual boiler room. At the end of the course staff will have a thorough understanding of boiler codes, standards, mountings and equipment. They'll learn about the operation of pumps, draft systems, blowdown systems, steam traps and more.

Boiler Operation and Code Compliance (Online Course)
Employees will learn the operating practices and procedures required to achieve compliance with AMS’s boiler codes and standards – including routine operation, raising steam, the causes and effects for water hammer, boiler shutdown and storage and more.
It contains a functioning, interactive gauge glass simulator with sound effects providing step-by-step instruction on the correct testing procedure so you can practice and observe typical responses to a variety of faults and operating conditions.

Packaged Boiler Controls (Online Course)
This intermediate level course focuses on boiler code requirements for different categories of boilers with particular emphasis on limited-attendance and unattended operation.
It contains a functioning, interactive burner management system (BMS) simulator typical of those found on gas/oil-fired boilers. It provides a detailed step-by-step overview of the burner logic and flame failure protection that are a mandatory requirement in modern boiler operation. Realistic sound effects give you an immersive experience and the simulator provides an insight into a key aspect of boiler operation that is often poorly understood.
