Primary ITO will hold its AGM on 23 May 2018, where it will formally reappoint Mr Mark Darrow and appoint Mr Trevor McIntyre to the position of Director for the Primary ITO. Mark and Trevor were the successful applicants in a recent recruitment process.
Mark Darrow is the current Chair of the Primary ITO Board and for the past 10 years he has been involved in governance roles across a broad range of industries including automotive, agriculture, manufacturing, health and education.
Mark holds a number of Directorships including with NZTA, The Lines Company, Balle Bros Group, Motor Trade Association (MTA), Armstrong Motor Group, Signum Holdings and Courier Solutions along with private investment companies and Trusts.
Mark’s previous Directorships included Dekra New Zealand (VTNZ), Charlie’s Group Limited, the New Zealand Motor Industry Training Organisation (MITO) and as Trustee for Macular Degeneration New Zealand (MDNZ).
Trevor McIntyre comes to the ITO with a strong governance background in the tertiary education, local authority, not for profit and sporting sectors including a range of advisory board roles at government and local authority levels in the education/employment areas. Trevor has considerable management and operational experience at the secondary and tertiary education levels, as well as on farm. He was formerly employed in the Ministry of Education Youth Guarantee programme where he was involved in Primary pathway initiatives. Trevor holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from Lincoln University.
The Board will also say farewell to one of its long serving Directors, Mr Barry Harris, who will not stand for re-election.
“Barry has been a strong advocate for the Primary ITO, including as past Chair of the Primary ITO’s subsidiary Agricultural Services Limited. His passion for primary industries and its people has always been evident. I know even though he may no longer be around the Board table, that Barry will still hold a keen interest in the ITO and I look forward to working with him any new capacity that may arise” said Mark Darrow, Primary ITO Chair.
The Primary ITO would like to take the opportunity to formally thank Mr Barry Harris for his service and wish him well for future endeavours.
Stakeholder Chair Rick Powdrell commented “We are delighted to have been able to retain Mark Darrow on the Board and we welcome Trevor McIntyre. We have a strong Board and look forward to their contributions over the next three years.”
