Prerequisites
Learners must be employed in the sector and have completed a Level 4 Arboriculture qualification.
Non-funded fee: from $5,574.60. Please note, this fee will only apply for non-funded learners – learners who are not employed in the industry, do not meet the entry requirements of the programme, or are not classed as “domestic learners” under the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) funding rules. Summary
This programme is focused on end-to-end project management and a high level of technical knowledge to lead arboriculture operations.
There are 7 off-job tutorial days.
Learning Outcomes
Graduates will be able to:
- apply knowledge of work scheduling, risk management, site safety, hazard management planning and reporting on tree work operations.
- apply knowledge of site-specific tree selection and survey when carrying out routine tree assessment and valuation and report findings.
- monitoring and manage site works to protect established trees on construction sites.
- evaluate a site for amenity trees, selecting trees and preparing a planting plan.
- Identify a range of conifers, exotic trees and native trees, and research and evaluate trees found in arboriculture operations.
- write analytical reports.
- plan and manage complex tree work.
- lead, coach and manage teams.
- apply arboriculture law.
