Summary
Post Harvest Level 3 introduces learners to operational details, such as grading and packing to specific criteria, preparing for changeovers and keeping an eye on consumables.
Learners will also be able to take their pick of one of three post harvest activities - quality control, coolstore operations or laboratory technician work, learning specialist knowledge in a key area.
Learners can complete this programme as the first year of a New Zealand Apprenticeship.
Learning outcomes
Graduates will be able to:
- work as an effective member of a team, including communication and interaction with team members and colleagues relevant to a role in the horticulture sector
- carry out operational tasks within post-harvest production systems.
