Summary
This brand-new short course is made up of one face to face workshop and is suitable for:
- Farm Assistants
- Relief Milkers
- Experienced farmers who want to develop or refresh their knowledge in spreading effluent while looking after the environment.
Learning Outcomes
During the workshop you’ll hear from your expert dairy tutor about:
- Characteristics of a dairy effluent system
- Legal, social and environmental consequences of not applying effluent correctly
- The responsibilities of people dealing with effluent, including how to deal with adverse events and common operational problems.
Graduates of this course will be able to:
- Describe the risks associated with dairy effluent at all stages from production to storage and spreading
- Describe how to monitor a dairy effluent management system.
Please note: this short course differs from standard Primary ITO training programmes and is a non-formal course. Therefore learners are not required to complete an assessment, and will be awarded a certificate of attendance once they have completed this course.
