Summary
Learners will gain the skills and understanding to step up into supervising, be able to lead and manage a team ensuring quality and productivity at every step. Learners will learn how to manage, inspire and guide those around them, ensuring the highest standards along the entire fruit production process to achieve crop production targets.
This can be completed as second and third year of a New Zealand Apprenticeship.
Learning outcomes
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- supervise and provide instruction to team members using a range of effective communication and interpersonal skills relevant to a horticulture sector
- implement and monitor sustainable wine growing operations to achieve grape quality specifications
- implement and monitor a sustainable wine grape protection programme to achieve grape quality specifications
- monitor and assess sustainable wine growing techniques to achieve desirable wine quality.
