Non-funded fee: $1,463.55. Please note, this fee will only apply for non-funded learners – learners who are not employed in the industry, do not meet the entry requirements of the programme, or are not classed as “domestic learners” under the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) funding rules. Summary
This brand-new programme for 2025 is designed for those new to the wine production industry. This programme is ideal for those in vineyard operations and vineyard machinery operator roles, and is a perfect first step for those considering an apprenticeship.
Learners will gain knowledge of practical tasks required throughout the growing season, as well as daily vineyard operations.
This programme takes 5 months to complete, and learners can start anytime. There is no off-job training component to this programme. All of the training occurs on the job.

- vine trimmer operation
- servicing and maintaining machinery
- vineyard machinery
- fertiliser application
- mechanical harvest support.
