Summary

This micro-credential is suited for those in Farm General and Shepherd positions who want to develop their skills and knowledge in sheep, beef, and deer farming. Topics covered include:

  • Biosecurity, types of diseases and how to apply best practice to migrate risk.
  • Identification and care of healthy livestock, ill health and ill thrift.
  • Use of preventative animal health measures.
  • Obligations and practices with regards to animal welfare requirement.

This micro-credential takes 4 months to complete.

  • describe biosecurity relating to livestock

  • assist with the diagnosis of livestock health problems
